Sponsorship For James Herriott Centre

Wagg, has announced its biggest ever sponsorship deal, in a move which will see the company reinvesting in the animal world.

Wagg has become the official sponsor of The World of James Herriot - a visitor attraction based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, close to Wagg’s headquarters. The Centre is based in the surgery of the world’s most famous vet and author Alf Wight, aka James Herriot.

The sponsorship will fund free visits to the attraction for hundreds of local schoolchildren and Wagg will also support the centre’s family fun days, regular exhibitions and the 2008 Herriot Convention. On top of the existing workshops, the backing will see a new educational session on pet care becoming available.

The World of James Herriot takes visitors on a journey back to the 1940s, and also features TV sets from the BBC series ‘All Creatures Great and Small.’

Tom Page, Director of Wagg, said he looking forward to supporting the Centre, and playing a part in preserving the local culture.

“We are delighted to become the official sponsor of The World of James Herriot. The Herriot Centre is a fantastic local attraction and is really helping to put Thirsk on the map.

“As a local business and employer we want to see Thirsk and the Herriot Centre thrive. Many of our staff live in the area and this sponsorship is our way of putting something back into the community. There is a clear synergy between Wagg and the Herriot Centre which is why we have chosen to become involved.”

This is the largest sponsorship deal to date for Wagg, which also supports a number of working dogs throughout the UK – including fire investigation and search and rescue dogs.
